2012 O’Neill Tahoe Cup Donner Lake

Was one to remember for first race of the season and the LPC Team.  Now they have their hands full for the rest of the race season and is a sure bet that they will be on top of the podium all season long…

Austin raced the 12’6″ stock class in not so great conditions and got 2nd place right behind his arch rival Ben Sarrazin of BOGA!

Brief Introduction to a rising star.

How I got into paddling:
I surfed and paddled outrigger for many years in California and Hawaii, and moved to Reno for graduate school summer of 2010. Paddling my OC-1 one day on Tahoe, a cove full of SUP-ers caught my eye, and I ventured in.

Favorite spot to paddle:
Anywhere in the ocean, but when I can’t get to the ocean, Waterman’s Landing on Lake Tahoe because after paddling, I can get coffee and quiches and talk story with other paddlers.
When I am not paddling: I always want to be paddling, but sometimes have to do other things like weather forecasting for paddling, surfing, mountain biking, snowboarding, running, and kickboxing.  Welcome aboard Nina we are very pleased to have you on the LPC Team.

This was another cold winter like Memorial day race at Donner Lake but being the old man on the block and running with the ELITE 14′ class I couldn’t be happier coming in the top 6th for being up against the best in the field.
